The Friendship Tours programme of South Africa is a project of the Rotary Club of Knysna. These tours are designed to create goodwill and lasting friendships amongst Rotarians world wide, as well as to promote a better understanding of South Africa and its different cultures. This 18 day tour of South Africa is very different from our previous tours and although it includes some of the old favourites such as Cape Town, the Winelands and the Garden Route, we also explore some new, off the beaten track gems, such as the southernmost tip of Africa and a wildlife safari at the luxurious Madikwe River Lodge in the North West Province, bordering Botswana, in a malaria free area. Accommodation is in hand picked superior hotels and lodges, with two nights home hosted with Rotary families in Knysna. Three nights will be spent in Cape Town at the 5 Star Commodore Hotel in the vibrant Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, two nights in the heart of the Winelands and two nights at The Palace of the Lost City, one of the world’s most extraordinary luxury hotels. There will be opportunities for make-up meetings, exchanging of banners and fellowship with local Rotarians.

James and Louise of the Knysna Club, both registered tour guides, will again be accompanying the group.
