This charming boat, with foredeck and sheltered central deck, has 10 comfortable cabins with twin and double beds, including four on the upper deck with large windows – good for those with difficulty climbing stairs. Lower cabins have a porthole. Salon/dining area has large picture windows. Casual barge atmosphere with good cuisine and crew. The cruise route, on canal only, affords plenty of opportunity for walking or biking along the canal. This incomparable region is world-renowned for its superb cuisine and fine wines. Interesting shore excursions are included and the cruise offers plenty of opportunity for walking or biking along the canal. Bicycles on board for the more energetic. The LITOTE is custom built to pass under the low bridges of the canal on its journey through a land of endlessly-enchanting vistas. Our tour starts with a two night stopover in Paris where we enjoy a memorable dinner at the legendary La Coupole, a tour of the city’s sights, a cruise on the Seine and a visit to the Eiffel Tower for spectacular views of the city. All shore excursions, sightseeing, entrances, most meals, wine with meals, porterage & even gratuities are included in the tour price. The group will be escorted by Louise Pannell, whose experience as a tour director will ensure a carefree and relaxing holiday. |

Day 1 |
On arrival in Paris, you will be met at the airport and transferred to the 4* HOTEL LITTRE, peacefully located on the Left Bank, between Saint-Germain-des-Pres and Montparnasse, where we spend two nights.

Fri 10 Aug B |
Depart after breakfast on a coach tour to discover Paris, it’s history and famous landmarks, followed by a one hour cruise on the Seine and finally an elevator ride to the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower. Afternoon and evening at leisure. |

Day 3 |
Morning at leisure to savour the many delights of this magical city. Early afternoon departure by coach for the village of Vandenesse en Auxois, where the LITOTE is moored. We are welcomed aboard with champagne, presentation of the crew and a late afternoon cruise to the hamlet of La Repe. |

Morning excursion to the elegant 15th century Chateau de Commarin. Still privately owned, the chateau is notable for its beautiful furnishings and a unique collection of Renaissance heraldic tapestries. Afterwards we pay a visit to the medieval village of Chateauneuf en Auxois before returning to Litote for lunch. This afternoon we cruise along the Burgundy canal to the village of Pont d'Ouche for overnight mooring. There is pleasant walking and cycling along the towpath |

Day 5 Mon 13 Aug B L D |
After breakfast, we drive over the hills of the Ouche valley to the famous wine producing town of Mersault. A visit to a private cellar has been arranged, with wine tasting and a chance to sample some of the most prestigious wines of this area. We return to Litote in time for a delicious lunch and then begin cruising through one of the most attractive stretches of the Burgundy canal to La Bussiere. We moor a short distance from the abbey which is well worth a visit. |

This morning is market day in Dijon, capital of Burgundy and after a guided visit of the historical center, there is time to stroll through the picturesque covered market, the largest in Burgundy. We return to Litote and cruise to the village of Gissey sur Ouche. |

A morning
cruise, passing through some delightful villages with many
opportunities to walk or cycle along the towpaths, brings us to Pont
de Pany. After lunch, an excursion to Beaune, the wine capital of
Burgundy and also home to the fabulous 15th century Hospice and its
splendid glazed tile roof, the finest example of Burgundian/Flemish
architecture in existence. We return to Litote moored in Fleurey sur
Ouche. |

Day 8
Thu 16 Aug B L D |
This morning we cruise through the small towns of Velars and
Plombieres, passing alongside lake Kir before arriving at the port
of Dijon, close to the heart of the city. This afternoon, an
excursion to Clos de Vougeot where wine was being produced as early
as the 12th century, followed by a private wine tasting. We return
to Dijon. Farewell Gala Dinner on board this evening. |

After breakfast, depart by coach for the return journey to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. There will be a stop en route, with free time for lunch. Departure flights from Charles de Gaulle Airport should not be scheduled before 17h30. Note: This is a sample itinerary: it is subject to modification in the case of unforeseen circumstances such as canal closures.
