Start your European vacation in splendid Paris before boarding a high-speed TGV train. Transfer to Luxembourg, to embark your ship.  Visit Trier, the oldest city in Germany and continue along the meandering Mosel River Valley, famous for Europe’s steepest vineyards. Visit the charming towns of Bernkastel and Cochem, sampling Mosel vintages along the way. Cruise through the most beautiful stretch of the Rhine River, dotted with picturesque castles from Koblenz to Rüdesheim. Enter the River Main and stop at the medieval towns of Miltenberg, Wertheim and Bamberg before cruising through the Main-Danube Canal to historic Nuremberg. Conclude with a 2-night land program in one of Europe’s most spectacular cities, Prague.

Text Box: Special welcome dinner this evening in a nearby historic restaurant, housed in a beautiful state-heritage building, where you can meet your fellow travelers while enjoying traditional French cuisine.

DAY 02
MON 3 SEPT

PARIS
Enjoy Paris' famous sights during your morning guided tour. Visit Notre Dame Cathedral, see the unique Louvre Museum, the commemorative Arc de Triomphe, Opéra, La Madeleine, Les Champs Elysées and much more.

The remainder of the day is yours to explore the many museums, galleries and other attractions that the city has to offer.

TUES 4 SEPT

A full day at leisure to explore the amazing "City of Lights," where romance fills the air. Stroll along Les Champs Elysées, the boutique-lined boulevards, or see the Eiffel Tower, built for the World's Fair of 1889. Paris at night offers unlimited possibilities for every taste
DAY 04
WED 5 SEPT

PARIS – LUXEMBOURG – REMICH – EMBARKATION
Bid "Au Revoir" to Paris as you board your TGV high-speed train to Luxembourg, one of the last independent duchies that made up Western and Central Europe. Today the Grand Duchy is important because of its role in international politics and banking. You will have a guided tour of Luxembourg before transferring to Remich, enjoying a panoramic drive en route.  Remich is a commune in the south-east of Luxembourg with city status.  Evening arrival at the ship for embarkation. Gala Welcome Dinner on board tonight.
DAY 05
THURS 6 SEPT

TRIER – BERNKASTEL 
After breakfast, arrive in the charming village of Trier, Germany’s oldest city, for a guided tour which will introduce you to the city’s rich Roman past.  Continue to Bernkastel, strategically located in the middle of the Mosel wine-producing region, boasting over 500 years of documented wine history. Take a guided walking tour through the old town center with its many medieval and Renaissance buildings. Visit the local  wine museum.

DAY 06
FRI 7 SEPT

COCHEM – KOBLENZ – RHINE CASTLES – RÜDESHEIM
Today, decide between an excursion to Cochem or to Koblenz.  In Cochem, you will take a guided tour of the spectacular hilltop Reichsburg Castle, which offers fascinating views of the river valley.  The alternative option travels to Koblenz, an historic wine-growing town at the confluence of the Mosel and Rhine.   Later, enjoy scenic cruising along the most beautiful and famous part of the Rhine, seeing castle after castle and the legendary Lorelei Rock.  Arrive in Rüdesheim, where we visit the Siegfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum after dinner. The ship moors overnight in Rüdesheim.
DAY 07
SAT 8 SEPT

MAINZ – HEIDELBERG – FRANKFURT
Today there are two sightseeing choices.  The first is a guided walking tour of beautiful Mainz to see the famous Gutenberg Museum, home of the world's first printed bible, then to enjoy a lunchtime cruise to Frankfurt.  In Frankfurt, you will have a walking tour of the city’s medieval section.  The alternative choice is to travel by motor coach for an excursion to Heidelberg, Germany's oldest university town. Visit the red-walled Castle, enjoy gorgeous views of the Neckar Valley below, and see the Great Vat, a 49,000-gallon 18th-century wine cask. You will also enjoy free time in Heidelberg. Later this afternoon, return to Frankfurt.
DAY 08
SUN 9 SEPT

MILTENBERG – WERTHEIM
Arrive in Miltenberg for a walking tour of this delightful old Franconian town with its narrow cobblestone streets and gabled, half-timbered houses.  During lunch, the ship will cruise to Freudenberg.  A motor coach tour will take you to Wertheim, where you will have free time to explore the town on your own  before boarding your ship for an overnight cruise to Würzburg. A guided bicycle tour from Freudenberg to Wertheim is also available (capacity controlled). 

DAY 09

ST. PETERSBURG
During your guided tour of Würzburg, the capital of lower Franconia, visit the magnificent Residenz Palace and see the major sights. This afternoon take an optional tour along the Romantic Road to medieval Rothenburg, still surrounded by its walls, towers, gates, timber framed buildings and ancient churches. Here you can enjoy a walking tour, followed by free time.  One of the most famous shops dedicated to the Christmas season is located here, complete with hand-made German Christmas ornaments. Or join our Würzburg to Kitzingen Bike tour. This evening, the Aulic Council and Wine Queens will welcome you at the pier and escort you to Germany’s oldest wine cellar. Enjoy several different wines, presented with bread, knowledgeable hosts, and plenty of laughter
DAY 10
TUES 11 SEPT

BAMBERG
Afternoon arrival in enchanting Bamberg, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.  Disembark for a guided walking tour of this medieval gem.  Marvel at the breathtaking cathedral, the Old Town Hall straddling the river, and the city’s serpentine streets with charming houses and 18th century mansions. Enjoy free time in Bamberg before you continue your cruise this evening to ancient Nuremberg, capital of Franconia.

DAY 11
WED 12 SEPT

NUREMBERG – PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC
After breakfast, wave goodbye to the crew as you disembark the ship.  Enjoy a guided morning tour of the historic city of Nuremberg with its fabulous Gothic churches and elegant impressive walls.  See the famous Zeppelin Field where Hitler held his infamous Nazi Party Rallies and the Justice Palace where the War Crimes Tribunal sat in 1946.  You will have some free time to explore the town on your own before transferring to Prague.  Arrive in Prague late this afternoon.Check in at the  HOTEL INTERCONTINENTAL PRAGUE, situated in the heart of this beautiful city for the next two nights.       http://www.intercontinental.com/intercontinental/en/gb/locations/overview/prague   

DAY 12

This morning's sightseeing reveals why Prague is considered one of Europe's most attractive cities. Begin with a scenic drive through Prague seeing the Dancing House and the Metronome overlooking the Vltava River before arriving at the thousand-year-old Hradcany Castle for a visit.   Afterwards, walk over the Charles Bridge to the Old Market Square. This evening enjoy a special farewell traditional dinner for our group.

Bid farewell to Prague and transfer to the airport for your homeward flight.

Single accommodation on a request basis and limited to 10 percent of the passengers traveling.

 

There is a Guaranteed Share Program on this cruise.  If a single passenger does not want to pay the single supplement, they can book a shared cabin in category B.  If another single (of the same sex) also requests a guarantee shared cabin, they would share.  Apparently, most of the time, the second person does not materialize and the first passenger will travel as a single, but pay the sharing rate.

A HANDLING FEE OF USD35 PER TRANSACTION WILL BE CHARGED FOR ANY ALTERATION OR REVISION MADE TO A CONFIRMED RESERVATION.
